Give Fpan a break guys if he has recently seen the car I doubt he has a reason to make this stuff up. I know he is genuinely after one, he as asked me to bring him one over.
It's not impossible for the car to have a rust spot on the roof if it has been untreated.
I have one on the R205 front fender which has been there for the past two years and I've just been lazy about sorting it out, but the rest if the car is immaculate.

Having taken Glens car is part x I am pretty sure this car maybe in better condition then when it left me. However it is a 8 year old car now (WOW can't believe it's been years!!) so I would expect some ware with it covering 20k+ miles and as for the price it all comes down to supply and demand and I would imagine the demand outweighs the supply for this car at the moment|!

His previous Spec C and Blob STi were both pristine when he got rid! I'd happily pay the asking price for the S204 knowing where it has come from!

Thanks for your input though fpan. ..
Written text can easily be misinterpreted.

Mervil, I am not on a high horse at all as you think.

As I said the car is in very good condition and is a credit to Glenn who has clearly looked after it.

The wear on the door cards and the steering wheel made me a little suspicious and I decided to do a BIMTA check on it.

On 25.10.2007 (last recorded mileage in Japan) the car had 24.000km (14.913 miles).

The UK service history shows that in October 2008 (before Glenn purchased it) the car had 9,800 miles

Make of that what you wish, and if you don't believe me get the chassis number and do a BIMTA check yourselves.

Thenewgalaxy et al, this was the main reason that put me off it.

So it's lost a few miles during the import process? Hmmm.

The car was first registered in 2005 so if in 2 years it did 15.000 miles it could have done another 7,500 (guestimate) between 2007-2008.

The question is why would someone do it for so few miles, it's not worth the risk IMHO.

Fpan the car was never registered in 2005 they weren't out until 2006 The car was bought from a main dealer and had the Jap service book with all the health checks along with the dates from what I remember. Surely the car would of had a service for 20k in the book????
As far as the BIMTA check is concerned they were notorious for being incorrect.

I just had a look at the BIMTA certificate, the 1st registration date was indeed 1/03/2006.

Glenn said that the car came with japanese service history which I admit I didn't check.

If that lines up with the UK service history then I guess you have a point.

What other cases have you seen that BIMTA got the mileage wrongly and do you know the reason for that?

They check the last recorded mileage when a car leaves the auction house in Japan, I was told.

I am sure the 20k service was done. The question is where. Japan or UK?

If it was done in Japan why did the service invoice in October 2008 (UK) show 9,800 miles?

Someone needs to go and check the japanese service history, then the mystery will be solved.

I suggest you check the service history and all the documents of the car before coming online and implying the car is not up to scratch it's a bit unfair on Glen or any owner when your ridiculing the condition of the car in more ways than one.

As for BIMTA checks I remember there being a thread on here or the MLR where the BIMTA mileage check was incorrect I am sure if you search you will find it.

If you need any help with anything regarding the cars history just give me a ring Fivos

Immy, I am not ridiculing the condition of the car mate (read carefully all my previous posts), I only mentioned a few minor things that were not up to my standards and if the seller wants top money for it, I would expect all the little niggles to be sorted.

That's just my opinion but anyone who knows me knows I am a fussy ****er.

If the japanese service history (which I admit I haven't checked) lines up with the UK one then all is well

Yeah I am that mate. Like my cars spot on. Hopefully this S204 will be OK as it looks a belter. Fair old trek from the good old North East if I want to view.
