Mmmm well how am I going to reply to this
Right I didnt start taking the **** until ricey spat the dummy out !
once he did then it was fair game.
As for you Daly.88 you came on the thread all guns blazing and were all flash and no bang !
you really need to take a minute and think out what you are writing so you dont come across as a retard as I suspect you are.
And I am not moaning just pointing out how retarded the way you put your points across are and laughing at it as well

If you use mechanical sympathy and the car has been well looked after who knows it may hold it own and prove an exception to the rule.

I read the first post, as I felt I could offer some figures too.
Then I read the rest of the thread. I'll keep it simple.
From MY experience, my previous car - UK300, had been modified thus;
Full refurbished brembos, BC coilovers, Whiteline ARB's, Drop links, full geometry setup.
VF43 turbo, 560cc injectors, sti9 intercooler, Green panel filter, 3 inch turbo back exhaust system, 3 port solenoid, Walbro pump and FSE FPR.
As well as some other tasteful mods, to keep her looking as clean, presentable and original as possible, whilst utilising other parts to improve on what she was already.
The car had been mapped prior to my ownership, on standard everything by Trackhound, who has now moved overseas.
I had it mapped with Trackhound, and this is the figures it made, to which I received the proof via email.
Low boost at 0.9 bar, 285bhp with 265 ft/lb torque
High boost at 1.45 bar, 386bhp with 378 ft.lb torque.
I never ran the car on low boost, as this was my 'alternative' setting.
It ran without missing a beat for over a year before we parted company. It was used as a daily driver, with some normal and spirited driving. I never had any issues with engine internals or gearbox. The car when it left, was sitting on 98k.
The engine is now running in a rally car over in Switzerland, with no issues at all, still.
My current bug, which was rebuily at 69k before I got her, will be running close to 420bhp on standard internals until later this year once my new engine has been built and fitted.
Again, I expect no issues at all. As far as I am aware, the standard box, can cope comfortably with UP to 450bhp, dependent of driving style etc. HOWEVER it was recommended a 6 speed box would be more beneficial.
Hope this helps

However, "driven properly"
I use the car for daily driving, it doesn't get tracked or sprinted. I do occasionally enjoy "spirited driving" as many of us do.
As I said, it would be recommended for a 6 speed box, if I was going to use the car for anything other than what it is already. The 754 box is strong, and as was said the newer 5 speed again, stronger.
The car will, eventually go 6 speed, once the engine is complete, but until then, the 5 speed will be fine for what it will be running

If that's your opinion, then that's fine.
However, "driven gingerly"
