Scooby Sport Exhaust. Do I need to get my Car re-tuned ?
#1
Hello All
I recently fitted a scoobysport back box to my Impreza 1997 turbo.
The exhaust note sounds good. But the car doesn't feel as quick as it was. Do I need to get the fuelling setup again and re-tuned ??
The car revs better but there is not as much turbo push in the back feel I use to get with the standard exhaust.
Anyone else had this problem ??
I wasn't expecting any power gains but I wasn't expecting a drop in power either.
My car is standard apart from the SS exhaust.
Cheers
Gary.

It probably feels different because there is more power before you come on boost too, so the contrast between off boost and on boost is reduced. That said, you should feel some improvement throughout the range.
Give me a call if we can give the car a diagnostic check over for you.

Hello Pete,
It just feels different. It revs better through out the range though. No complaints. Maybe I just need to get use to it.
My car is running new plugs/filter/MAF Sensor after it's full service at the main dealer for warranty purposes. So there shouldn't be any faults on the select monitor. Hope not anyway !!
Keep up the good work.
Cheers

Don't forget its been extra warm lately, makes a heck of a difference in the power (well it does on mine anyway)
When I get the feeling my car isn't quick enough I always take my wifes Polo out for a few days, then the scoob comes back out the garage and the smiles return
