Watergate - Heart of Asia???
I'm nearing my 40's and really shouldn't be interested in any of this new fangled trace/dance/electronica/jungle/garage/ambient music, but maybe I'm having a mid life crisis as some of it just sounds sooooo good!!!
Problem is I struggle to find out what's what being as Radio 2 doesn't tend to feature too much of it
Anyway I love the track Heart of Asia by Watergate which I know is getting on a bit, but can any of you young DJ/music types out there tell me if the 7 minute Quicksilver remix is only available on vinyl or is there a CD version somewhere. The CD I have seen only features three shorter mixes.
While we're on the subject if you can recommend any good Internet radio stations for this sort of stuff then that would be most helpful. I know all this stuff is heavily categorised and I'm not the best at dividing up what is what, but some of my favourites are Chicane, Air, BT, Delerium, Gods Kitchen compilations etc. so hopefully that gives you an idea of what I'm after.
Thanks in advance.
tiggers.

go to www.winamp.com then click on 'music' then 'radio'. Search the techno genre for a station called ' D I G I T A L L Y I M P O R T E D '
I'm into trance and that's what I listen to whilst on the PC.
The best trance compilations are the Gatecrasher CD's imho.

Vinyl only
The original 12" i have (promo and general release) has it on, the positiva remixed one has it on the 12" too (Dj quicksilvers Q mix edit: 6:30)
The original Cd single didnt have it- only the radio edit.
The positiva remixed maxi CD last october had the following:
1. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) [Radio Edit]
2. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) [Quicksilver's Q Edit]
3. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) [Hemstock & Jennings]
4. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) [Des Mitchell Remix]
5. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) [James Holden Remix]
6. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) [Astro Heavenly Remix]
7. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Heart Of Asia) ['Infinity' Club Mix]
The Q mix edit is 6:30 long...... so that would be the one you are after methinks
Cat number for this is:CDTIVMIX10. HMV should be able to order it for you as its not deleted (yet)
However, there is an import CD single with the full length quicksilver mix on (something like 10 mins long).....no idea where you get it tho- was sent to me as a promo only.
Tiggers- PM me your address and ill knock off a classic mix CD for you with some of the tunes you just mentioned. Gives me a chance to dust off some of the old classic stuff
