It's a suite so halfway between a hotel room and an individuals apartment. You get a desk/concierge type bloke downstairs and someone cleans the rooms, but they have a big fridge/microwave etc and all the utensils and a big table & chairs as well as the usual bedroom / sofa / tv etc etc. It's obviously bigger from a floorspace perspective than a 'normal' hotel room.
It's not fancy, not especially plush, but as a NY base I reckon it's ideal. We used it for a 5 day stay (thu > tue ).
We had a top floor apt ( 1 bedroom , 1 sofabed ) with a balcony that looked onto times sq. We'd go back no worries ( & the people we went with have gone back a couple of times to the same place )

IF you've not yet booked a flight and plan to go later on in the year, Sainsburys are doing a offer of if you buy six bottles of wine(in special boxes) for 25 quid you get a free return flight to NY(excl taxes and insurance)
