WW2 Bikes. Whats the bike that steve mcqueen rides?and....
I saw a WW2 bike today. gorgeous. US army, speedo to 120mph, had a Thompson SMG leather gun pouch fitted to the front, no markings and a oiling recommendations plate on fuel tank. oh and a little plate on it saying "Caution - Do not exceed 65mph" on it.
Anyone got a clue what it was? Wouldnt mind restoring a WW2 bike.

It was a Triumph 500. T100 I believe is the model. It's actually a late 50s bike. No WW2 luncker could have performed like that. And, it's British, not German
Look closely, you'll see it's fitted with moto-x tyres

Steve Mcqueen did all his own stunts except the very long jump on the bike, that was done by his mate. I do like the part in the film where he chases himself on the bike (hes dressed as the german biker )
Great film and also rated as one of the best shots in the world (as in rifle shooting!).
