Wroughton was on Tuesday you have missed it.
It was a short track due to F&M. You could drive around the track just in 3rd gear with one 2nd gear hairpin. To short for me I like to get up to a bit of speed.

Ah, but there's another one up there tomorrow (Thursday). Don't think my (new) Alcons will be up to it, but I may go along to spectate for an hour or so.
I thought the 'circuit' up there was a couple of miles long?
How was the surface on tyres?

I went up to watch yesterday and the track certainly wasn't that short. 100mph+ was certainly possible on the straights.
I guess its down to how the organisers lay it out - the whole 'track' was marked out on the runways using cones...

3rd gear only? I hit 5th and 120mph....
Oh yes, but I left the Subaru at home and brought the Caterham instead....
It was a good day, Subarus driven immaculately as always, pity about one or two of the Cosworths.

As Bob said there was foot and mouth last week so the track was only 1/2 of its size!! 3rd gear tops aprox 70-80 mph!!

Clarkey Steve?/
Saw you flying around in the Caterham. No way a Scooby will keep up with that. But then I was two up and had two weeks shopping in the boot I would like a caterham just for track but could not afford to keep the two.

I only hit 90mph at my fastest all the other scoobies were about the same. None of the scoobies I went with hit 100 mph.

With good traction out of the tight chicane I touched 120mph on the long straight. Got some good video footage of chasing the ferrari too. The main advantage in the 7 was under braking and in the twisty stuff though; it just helped being faster than a 355 in a straight line as well.....
Bob, if you're at Brands Hatch on 2nd May I'll take you for a couple of laps. Let me know what you think....

They must have laid out the track differently - all done with cones so its up to the organiser on the day how it gets set up.

Hi all!
Just to clarify that we ran a day last thursday on April 19th and the circuit was over 2 miles long with a top speed possible of 130 mph on the long straight.
We will always take the time and trouble to set up the full circuit that I designed and will always have clear direction arrows, brake boards and chevron signs! We also had no problem with the foot and mouth crisis and were allowed to have outside caterers in on the day etc.
We also gave away a good driving manual booklet and various other bits and pieces. Plus the day was properly marshalled and everyone had loads of track time!
All this for £89. The next day is on May 24th and we are taking bookings now on 0870 787 2116 or email me at:
ed@motorsport-events.co.uk
I only want to run track days of the highest quality even when we charge such a modest entrance fee!
Take care.

Paid the same money,(£89) No food permitted on my day. I was starved, I did missed the burger van.
We did have a shorter track than usual so the organiser said.

Hi Bob
Rest assured you wouldn't go hungry on our days! A top catering van is on hand always - in fact it's so good you'll munch your way through the whole day!
You would much prefer our layout that I carefully designed - 2 miles long and a good mix of corners. Plus our track is very clearly marked out with good marker boards etc. All our marshalls are properly equipped and the day is very carefully run in a very friendly way.
Next one as I said before is May 24th. Our driving manual is a very worthwhile freebie to all our guests too.
Take care
