Question

Just a thought, and see how we go with it!

There are quite a few regular meets now, but as a thought, how about alternating them once a month. That way we can encourage the Surrey guys to Kent, the Kent guys to Herts, etc...

With more and more monthly meets, it's getting more difficult to get to them all.

What are the thoughts on alternating the meets? So one month Kent, the next Surrey, etc, etc, or have two locations in one month, etc.

Jot down your thoughts

Andy,
sounds like a good idea, south east meets seem to have taken off big time in the past few months.

I'm quite happy with things. So far we now have two regular meets in the SE, Surrey and Canterbury which allows for a meet every fortnight. These are also easy to plan for as they are consistent (2nd sunday and last sunday of every month.)

We are now looking at the essex meet on the first or third Sunday of the month which as long as it stays consistent (ie doesn't clash with one of these two) then I don't see it as a problem.

It's true that there won't be many who go to all three or even four if another is arranged, but at least it gives people a greater choice for example if work commitments don't allow them to go to one. As far as I'm concerned one a week is cool, it gives us all a choice. I'm not sure if I would/could go to more than two possibly three a month but it's nice that its there. There are many Essex owners who don't go to either the Canterbury or Surrey meets. At the end of the day each county has its own large group of owners they just need to be found! Similarly there are many kent owners who don't travel to surrey and surrey ones who don't come to kent. I don't see it as a problem, there is plenty of scope for each county to have it's own meet once a month. If they are done in such a way that they don't clash with those from other areas then it can only be a good thing as we all have the choice of whether we wish to attend 1/2/3or even 4 meets a month without it affecting our home meet! It's not like they are in competition with eachother, rather compliment eachother.

just my 2p

Cool...so there's a Sussex meet too which completes the month. How does this sound?

Sussex Meet- 1st Sunday
Surrey Meet- 2nd Sunday
Essex Meet- 3rd Sunday
Canterbury meet- Last Sunday

That's a pretty good choice for the Scooby enthusiast I'd say

Where in Sussex is it, east/west??..I'll go and search the appropriate thread now!!

The idea of the Sussex meet was not to clash with other meets and gather other enthusiasts to the fold (not that I knew that at the time).
