Canterbury (Kent) Meet Sunday 29th April
#1
Hello everybody,
I'm glad to say the Canterbury Meet is now organised. This meet will take place on the last Sunday of every month and will tie in nicely with the Surrey meet which is the second Sunday of every month. This month it falls on the 29th which is this Sunday.
The Venue is the Griffins Head in Chillenden.
It's a family run/owned pub with a decent car park and a cool beer garden. It's used to dealing with car clubs as it hosts the vintage car meet on the first Sunday of every month which is very well supported. They can handle upto 350 people so there is plenty of scope for when the meet gets established. They will close off the car park on Sunday just for us which is pretty cool and if the weather is good there is a nice beer garden and food will be cooked on a barbecue.
It would be good to get there for around 12.15-12.30. For those travelling from further afield, the pub is located on the A2 between Dover and Canterbury. It's the Wingham/Aylesham turning and then follow signs to Nonnington. I will scan an ordnance survey map later on.
We could all meet up at the little Chef at 12.00 at Harbledown and convoy down on country lanes to the pub.
So for those travelling further away, if we meet at Harbledown services on the A2. So basically come down the M2 motorway and take the A2 Canterbury turning. About a mile or two down the road you will see the Little Chef on the Left along with services and a hotel!
If you'd like to come along please could you post so we can get an idea of numbers.
So far,
Myself
Sean G
Greg M
Clive S
Tony M
Russ P
Andy O?
Richard S?
+ others I still need to get hold of! I'm hoping for a fairly good turnout and I'm going to phone Barretts so hopefully they can inform their customers!
Regards
Nito

Great venue and "highly acceptable" local roads for the blast back - Definitely a must do during the summer. We just need to drum up support from the rest of the Kent Crew (and maybe some of our brethren over the county borders) and see if we can't take over the entire village!!

For those that missed the day out in glorious Kent we all ended up at this great Pub in the country. The landlord even made his local patrons park on the lane so that we could have the car park for our motors.
Lets hope we can get more people turning up next time.

Top day out, i reckon at a push we can squeeze 25 cars in that car park!
And that was possibly the BEST steak sandwich i've ever eaten!
Cheers Lads and lasses, see ya at the next one!

What? Only 4 cars turned up??
It turned out to be the perfect venue in the end and the landlords were very helpful and supportive. I've now told them to keep the car park for us on the last Sunday of every month so hopefully we'll have a bigger group next time now that it's established!
Next meet is the Surrey meet in 2 weeks time (Sunday 13th May), see Andy Tangs post here in southern, so who's up for that, please post in Andy's thread!!
Our next Canterbury meet will be on May 27th so make sure you keep it free!
Thanks again to all of you.

Nonsense...you couldn't move for all the saloons and dodgy sonic blue cars!
Greg, now you've shown the hairdresser's cars, how about a pic of the true hardcore Scoobs
ps..should we start a Canterbury meet website like the surrey meet one, maybe with a street map and a photo gallery!?!
