RSOC meet, Scole, next Tuesday (8th)

It's "The Crossways" pub in Scole. If you haven't been before, don't worry about finding it, as Scole is so tiny you won't go far wrong . There are basically two roads, which meet at a T-junction, and the pub is about 50yds from here, on the "through" road of the T. You'll spot it by all the RS's parked outside
Have a good time - will be there next time.

Hope to be there Tues.
It seems the P needs taking out of P1PPPPPPPPPuff a multitude of times - every time I see it he's got more P than Birdseye.
Whats the P1 bit for (or did he forget to type the two "S"'s ?) ?

Stan - sorry to hear you've got the dreaded piston slap! Hope Subaru cough up with the readies for what is obviously a design fault in the pre 1999 cars.
Richard - I agree!!
So, howsabout next Thursday (17th), or the following Tuesday (22nd). Should be very pleasant in the beer garden at the Plough in Fen Ditton, now that we have the lighter evenings. Which date suits most peolple?

Erk Stan! Is it in Welch's at the mo then? If so, you can't have the Justy, as I've got that courtesy car overnight and tomorrow... Mine's in checking out a knocking on the engine - dreaded piston slap suspected
Fingers crossed, eh?
Next Thursday would be best for me, Grahame, and yes, the Plough at Fen Ditton would be most pleasant these warm summer evenings

Are we all in at Welch's at the moment?!! Mine's in for a 22500 mile service - and (surprise surprise) has mild piston slap diagnosed on piston 4. Sound familiar? Not serious enough to worry about yet apparently, but just something to keep an eye on...
See you next Thursday!

Welcome to the SSC (Subaru Slappers Club).
Told that the slap is nothing to worry about - it wont break the engine - its just noisy on cold starts. Is it likely to cause extra wear ?
I'm disappointed that the Subaru letters they sent me, encouraging me to take out their extended warranty (for £582) to give me total peace of mind have not succeeded. I'm very concerned about trade-in or resale value on a car with slap - would you buy it ???
Hope Mr Assessor is sympathetic and does the decent thing.

Told that slap is just something to keep an eye on (on mine at least as it's early days apparently). Have to say it would worry me buying one with slap. It seems up until now that people have had it sorted under warranty, but Subaru now are becoming less accommodating - I guess because of the number of cars with this problem. Hope you can get yours sorted that way (if it's still in the 3 year warranty?).
I've got warranty cover with Motor Warranty Direct, so I might need to see how good (or otherwise) they are...
Saw PTMW! in the garage too - but forgot to check out the spots!
