Default Warranty yes or no

My warranty is up in a few months and i am facing the dilema of whether or not to renew it.
Car is an MY03 STI PPP with a fairly low 16k on the clock.
Had no issues with it yet other than rear shockers replaced under warranty.
I know from my previous Impreza the warranty was circa 700 quid which is a lot of cash and is potentially money down the drain, on the other hand though it could save me money
I have read a bit about other warranty suppliers but some seem a bit vague on was is and what is not covered so are they worth it
Anyone not continued their warranty and lived toregret it ?
Nik.

I was quoted over £950 for the same car when mine ran out last year. I never bothered, mines done twice the mileage as yours to Nik. So far nothings gone wrong.

I'd get them to check the rear top mounts before it runs out, and maybe your battery, they seem to be the most common complaints on 2003-2004 STi's

I thought it was about £400 quid for an extra 2 years.I didnt bother with my last impreza bearing in mind you may want to sell it in the near future and it wont effect the resale price and anyway its only low miles

Get a Remap mate and spend the change on yourself. I've got a MY53 sti ppp (with mods) at c30k miles no issues except the rear shocks.

The "aftermarket" warranty companies are awash with crooks! Let's face it they take your money then rarely pay out ... IMHO it's not worth it. A Subaru warranty is a different matter mind.

Has any body brought an after 3 year warranty and had something go? Just want to see the likelihood of them paying out.

Default Warranty yes/no

I've been quoted £500 for 1 year and £1k for 2 years today by Subaru dealer. Not sure I'll bother on my 35k MY04 STi.

Includes Subaru Assistance but it's got to be worth the gamble?

Getting the dealer to do a check up when she goes in for the MOT on 10th.
