22b how much!
How much would you pay for a 22b if you were in the market obviously this is the most iconic impreza ever made and is super rare!
There is one at Graham walkers upstairs that is as new and still has the indicator stalk covers on! 15,000miles only priced at £31500! most ive seen one prior was £25000 is this too much?

I've bought a few new cars in my time, but never with indicator stalk covers! If I had, then I think I would have removed them long before I reached 15,000 miles. Any notwithstanding that little detail, a mint 15,000 mile 22B will find a Buyer sooner or later if the Vendor is patient. The good, original ones with less than 50,000 miles tend to go for 20k and upwards.
I know plenty of people on here can't get their head around 22B values: they see it pretty much as just another 11 year old Impreza STi. But it's the combination of that gorgeous iconic WRC-inspired wide-bodied 2 door bodywork, undisputed rarity and all those performance bits out of the STi parts bin, that make it go as well as it looks, that add up to the percieved value to an enthusiast.

I do remember reading about #13 being sent to the USA under some kind of special exemption that allows a single car to be imported for show / demo purposes.
It was used for racing IIRC - unlikely to be 'as new' in any respect

Cars can get repainted before leaving the factory, i have seen it happen myself plenty of times at the Nissan plant in Sunderland
they have an army of smart repair blokes at the end of the line fixing problems!
i would assume Subaru is the same!

If they do, they're pretty good at it. I've never seen runs, dust or any other major defects on new, original paint from Subaru. I had an STI with a blemish on the bonnet that came out with a bit of 'wet & dry' and a polish, that's all.
22B #13 has had an interesting life by the sounds of it... can't believe they haven't even had the wheels refurbished!

On the other hand, when i worked for a ford dealers we once unwrapped a new escort and found a masking line around the roof LOL!
but yeah, the repairs i have seen done on the end of the line are top notch, a far cry from some chipsaway bloke in a pub car park, painting a bumper while he is eating a sausage roll

Aside from the fact that this one might be a lemon, low mileage "icon" cars fetch silly money.
Low mileage Lancia Integrale EVOs fetch £35K+. Dealer Collection EVO2s are mid twenties for sub 50K miles.
I had such a hard on for the Lancia until I drove it. Did nothing for me. Certainly a case of never meet your idols.

Do a search for my experience with Graham Walker's and their 'amazing' condition 22b. Suffice to say I'd never buy anything off them, a complete shoddy experience for me.
As regarding 22bs in general, IMHO they're very expensive for what they are. I eventually managed to own an even rarer UK 22b for a while. I sold mine within 6 months as I couldn't justify the outlay for something that has basically the same performance as a £5k Impreza. The price seems to be held high due to their rareity and bragging rites at car shows. I don't think I'd have another. Save your money and get a Version 5/6 Vltd.

I wouldnt realy use one again, mine are put away becuase I cant help myself,Im a horder,I like to keep things and not use them,I cant help it,but the bonus with the 22B is they will only go up in value not that it bothers me if I only get my money back when I decide to sell them, but profit would be nice (better than havn the money in the bank)

Just been on the Graham Walkers website and there's no sign of the 22b.
Done a full search of the website and nothing.
If a dealer had such a rare, amazing "As New" example of a 22b then surely they would put it on their website for people to view???

If it's #13 and it's in the UK how come it doesn't look as good as when Subaru USA had it on display at the SEMA show last year??
