Can't decide which boost gauge to get!
Well i don't like not having one and i'm getting a remap soon so will need one...
In my last WRX i had Auto gauges...
These were fine and generally accurate but i found it hard to read the boost gauge...not good when it was running 17 PSI
I can't afford Prosport..Defi etc so wondered if the Digital ones were any good? I quite like the idea of the number just being there so you don't have to look too hard?
52mm DIGITAL BOOST & VOLT DUAL COMBINATION GAUGE - PSI on eBay, also Dial, Dash Switch Custom'n, Interior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 14-May-09 11:22:44 BST)
BUT i like this one too as it's easy to read...
ELECTRO-LUMINESCENT PSI TURBO BOOST GAUGE & FITTING KIT on eBay, also Dial, Dash Switch Custom'n, Interior Styling, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 17-May-09 16:36:14 BST)
What you guys think??

Most gauges are fairly accurate at least once it's mapped it should be mapped at a level say 1.3 but your cheaper gauge shows 1.4 and then if it starts going madly over or under you know you've got a problem.

Hi mate id save for the Prosport i got mine for about £50 delivered from Danny at Xyberautos there well worth it, the stepper gauges are so smooth & with them being electronic you've not got pipes going through the car only a wire which makes things alot easier, other that i would look out for a decent gauge like apexi or greddy second hand probably pick one up cheap

Alan,
The Prosport ones are available for under £40 each delivered, so not really that expensive. (Check fleabay) Have seen many reports about accuracy, even seen defis are poor if you 'plumb in' a 'real' guage. The main thing is you can see if things are "not the norm" in everyday driving.

I thought Prosport gauges are cheap gauges!! Can't go wrong for £40 odd quid. They are pretty acurate....and they do look nice, have a look in my garage

I don't believe a £200 gauge is going to tell you anything THAT different to a £50 gauge.
I don't like the black faced gauges because they don't match the white OE dials.
Carp pic but these were autometer ultralites in my old uk turbo. They have a little red or green sock to go over the light. With the green sock they match the green of the dash lights very well. They are actually silver faced but it looks white.
I bought a PSi3 data monitor which tells you all manner of information.

I believe these guys import the Autometer gauges (they are a US brand)
I'd be tempted to go for 60mm electric boost, 52mm mech oil press, 52mm mech oil temp, 52mm Wideband AFR.

Advert doesn't say, they do both electrical and mechanical in the 'Perfomance' range, only the electrical does the intro sweep. Best to email the seller and check. That gauge is not a 'Premium' (peak and hold) one though
All info can be found here....
Prosport Gauges - Gauges

Hi what do you mean by premiums ones. Ones that peak and hold. At the moment I've got a apexi boost gauge but am looking at prosport gauges once Ive found out how to fit them properly.

'Performance' = no peak and hold
'Premium' = peak and hold
https://www.scoobynet.com/group-buys...er-gauges.html (peak and hold ones)
The group buy has a good price for 3 gauges, may be worth checking with rbaz how much a single boost gauge is as you may be able to get the discount? Mine are 'Performance' ones as the 'Premium' were more difficult to get hold of in green at the time and only green would do for me

Sorry but Defi's are the way forward! Expensive I know but well worth while In the long run! Just save up buddy as you wont be disappointed! You can also record and play back what's going on with the car to and set warning buzzers if the car decided to go crazy and could end up saving your engine!
I see 3 gauges go on here for £250 with the control box on Friday night! (Very cheap that is!)
Here is my set up!

Defis are nice but I just don't see how a £200 gauge is going to tell you anything a £50 gauge is.
If the engine lets go the damage will be done long before the gauge tells you. I also think oil temp is the most important gauge. Oil pressure is handy but like I said if its knackered its knackered. Least with oil temp you know when its safe to boot the car. Water gets hot very quick, oil takes much longer.

My mate has got Defi's and his oil pressure dropped and the Defi gauges started flashing and beeping like crazy and he turned the key off ASAP which saved him a engine rebuild! Luckily his reaction time caught it in time before it blew or ceased! After investigating the engine and stripping down some bits they found the oil pump went faulty! Saved him a rebuild that we all cost ££££ and that my fella is the difference between a £50 gauges and a £200 gauges!

Cossie nutter i agree with all your saying...
With the buzzer etc on the Defi's it could potentaily save my engine BUT if i havn't =got that sort of cash i just havn't got it mate I'm saving for my remap which at the end of the day is just as important for me.
Going to go for Prosport..Boost in PSI and Oil temp both in green in a twin pillar pod
