Advice cabin wind noise
Right, the whistle is back!!! MY07 STi Hawkeye
Anywhere near & ovet triple figures the dreaded whistle appears
Flicking the windows down (any of them) doesn't seem to have an affect & it seems too close to the cabin to be the wing mirrors, so i'm sure its the frameless windows & rubber seals. Unless someone can offer any other suspects!
It appears that this product has been used 'Krytox', so has anyone tried this lubricant on the rubber window seals? It's apparently used to keep them supple and less likely to let the wind squeeze/whistle through!
I'm getting fed up with the noise, although you never would have guessed!!!
Any other answers or suggestions welcome.
Hoping for serious answers only
Cheers,
Iggy

With my classic, i found that opening the door then closing it with the window fully up cures the problem. I used to get the whistling noise if i was driving along with the window down, then put it up while driving. Looks quite funny from behind when someone sees you opening your door a little then slamming it on the motorway.

Mine whistles, but only at speeds well in excess of 100mph so is only apparent when on track
I'm surprised it bothers you so much if it only appears at similar speeds
There are lots of culprits on an impreza
-bonnet scoop, not great for aerodynamics
-wipers that don't tuck under the bonnet edge
-frameless glass
-limited soundproofing
Solutions? You didn't seem to like bushiwarriors, mine would be don't worry about it so much (I can barely hear it over engine, tyre and exhaust noise in mine).
You could fit side visors, like these
E3610FE000 - Exterior Styling & Protection - Cheam Motors
or you could delete the bonnet scoop after going to a FMIC
