Bob . . .

Short and to the point . . P21S Wax wax IMHO the best I ever bought . .. At least it loks best for a WR BLue . The difference is , I find . . .The "ordinary" waxes/polishes which are polimer based, will in the end give off a brilliant sparke and dazzling shine . .

P21S . . .However is a Canuba based wax . .These will, unlike the polymer based polishes/waxes will in the end give the car a deeper/warm look . . .With a WR Blue, you would want to dive in to it and swim! . .

I am trying to fing a pure natural carnuba wax to apply . .Thesea re quite hard to find in general, and apply . . .However, without a doubt - carnuba is the way forward!

Hope this helps!

AutoGlym Super Resin Polish. Just as good as all those fancy ones, and imho, a lot easier to use. And its cheap!

Hang on, you say you want a polish, yet you mention stuff about carnuba waxes.

Polish for shine
Wax for protection

Can't have one without the other. (or surface cleaning and prep - if you want to do it properly)

The meg's 3 stage is good for the money. Paint cleaner is a bit crap for cleaning your usual neglected bodywork (better off using glue+tar remover), but the polish and wax is good.

And as above, the autoglym super resin polish hive a good shine (quite dusty, mind)...but it needs the extra gloss protection to seal it in and make it last.

No need to spend lots of money, just need elbow grease. Just take care with what cloths and pressure you use if your car is Blue or Black (especially pearls and metallics), that is if polishing swirls bother you.

<cue the swissol bunch> :......

You won't get good results for £15, if you really don't want to spend anymore I think you'll find NXT is probably the best/easiest all in one cleaner/polish.

I've tried everything and am currently being very impressed with the Poorboys range from Polished Bliss.

Well done bob for speaking my mind - however has anyone answered the original question.

I can't be arsed with spending 3-4 hours on a 3 stage process, so what's the best product for a "once on, once off" finish, (and I accept it may not be as rich, deep or shiney as Swissol et al)?

Edit: except perhaps gooner who posted as I was writing.

i'm with Gooner on the NXT tech wax - good simple application and polich off with little or no dust. Shine is good too.

Get a foam applicator pad or two though - these really help.

just to echo above comments really,i use Poorboys EX and p21s concours wax, have tried loads of others including swissol, zymol, autoglym, meguiars, pinnacle, but you cant beat poorboys and p21s for value/shine-would argue that the above are streets ahead of autoglym by the way which i used for years and years. Still got a sml amount of zymol and swissol left but when its gone wont be buying any more, will stick with the poorboys EX and p21s concours look carnuba wax.

Thumbs up car polish

Hello,

I've tried the lot. The best & easiest is MER from Halfords & most Car Places.

2 ways to do it, 1) Wash your Scoob then ,after drying apply with a damp cloth in a circular patten.

Walk away and leave it to dry ( I leave mine for an hour whilst doing other things) then polish off with a clean soft duster.

2) When you wash your Car put a Capful of Mer & a Capful of Halfords Advance Isotonic Car Shampoo in a bucket of warm water and stir well. Hose car, apply bucket mixture with a sponge, hose off them Chamios dry.

If you do this every time you wash your car, it builds up a tremendous layer of brilliant high gloss.

Canines Gentila!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck

Each to their own IMHO

I love Swissol

Hactually, Fairy liquid in high concentration is pretty good for preaping the bodywork as its better at removing tar, road film, carbon deposits, fall out, tree sap, pollen and old wax ready for fresh polish and waxing

Most car shampoos and paint restorers/cleaners just don't cut it

Be careful with washing-up liquids -- they consist of an awful lot of SALT!!!

Yup, but it being such a good degreaser and emulsifier agent, it makes good prepration wash before getting out the panal wipe or glue+tar remover and then the fine-cutting polish, so your polishing and waxing the paint and the the crap that's still left sitting on top.

And if you waxoyl the chassis and body cavities and over spray it. Fairy+jetwash is all that'll shift it

I've just finished polishing my car today, and use Meguiars products, went round first with their Scratch X, the NXT Paste, I think its a brilliant polish, so easy to use, and get a fantastic shine. I also use a polishing machine.

I have just polished mine today. I normally use Autoglym but I gave the Maguiars nxt spray a go this time, £7.99 from halfords .

I used a small sponge to apply and a microfibre cloth to wipe off.

IMO it gives a richer deeper shine, is easier and a lot quicker to use and leaves very little powder and wipes off well.

I'm pleased with it.

Get the following:

3M Finesse-IT
Farecla G3 Top Wax

Professional grade products, which will give you a breath taking finish. Both are available on eBay.

I'd advise caution with using 'polish' on the Scoob paint (early ones at least) as it has abrasives in it which can make the paint/lacquer go cloudy. Had a very bad experience with AutoGlym when I first bought my DBM Classic 4 years ago ! Started to use Swissol and never went back !

Good choice Bob.

PS, I really can't believe people think Autogrim is any good, for the £20 that Bob has spent on Poorboys his finish will be in a different league than that other muck, plus less chalk dust, elbow grease etc.

I use the Farecla G3 liquid on my Pajero to remove scratches after 'Greenlaning', its excellent stuff and can 'polish' out quite deep marks.

Im still using the last drops of my Swissol Cleaner Fluid and Wax and can say the results are excellent however it is overpriced imo.

Please give us some feedback on your results inc a picture.

Im either gonna try what you have bought via ebay (seems reasonably priced) or will consult with Polished Bliss and try some of his stuff......thinking P21S or Blackfire range.

Its good stuff, you shouldnt use it too offten though its very abrasive! G10 would be better for you as you use it regularly.

And I ment to just right Farecla Top Wax, not sure why I wrote G3?
