Default GoPro advice

Anyone have any experience of these types of "action" video cameras? I'm thinking of getting one and a store is selling a GoPro Hero3+ Silver for £200. It is a discontinued mid range model hence the lower price and is only a little bit more than their budget models. Also does anyone recommend an alternative for the same price? I'll be using it for when I go snowboarding in the new year initially and then for any other holidays and activities with the family.

Also what software would you recommend for editing and putting the video together? Thanks

Cool, I'll check out the reviews. Are you using any particular software/application to "produce" the videos?

Well I'm glad I didn't buy the GoPro on the weekend as it's now been reduced again to £150. Also comes with a free battery pack too. Separately also bought 64GB microSD card for £15. Bargain! Bargain! Bargains!!

I have a Hero 4 Black, probably more than I need, but hey, you gotta spend your money something. The video they produce it very good, but needs a bit of processing. The GoPro studio software is fine for getting it in to a format you can use with something else, but beware of enabling Flux for your whole video, it can extend your processing time of a video from minutes to several hours. Only use Flux for the bits that actually need it! You'll also need a fairly beefy PC to process the files.

Cheers guys, gonna have a play around with the new GoPro and try the GoPro studio, I'm no movie producer so hopefully this should be sufficient for my needs. Hopefully my Intel i5 laptop will do, otherwise I'll just have to be patient!!
