pipex is NOT part of worldcom, so you are OK . pipex get their feed from uunet which is part of worldcom.

Suba - your are incorrect. UUNET is no more since mid last year. Their Parent company WorldCom merged them. UUNET did own Pipex but sold it off as a seperate entity, hence the support is a totally diff company even though you can get to Pipex Support from the WorldCom (former UUNET) support line menu. However Pipex still uses the UUNET network for Dial at least and would assume the same for ADSL - do a trace and see if you traverse routers with uk.uu.net or alter.net suffixes.

How do I know this? Cos I work for WorldCom (for know anyways).

Simon.

worldcom will survive. they are BIG especially with the merger with MCI years ago. so no worries for pipex users .

btw, .ac.uk and .gov.uk just switch to them from KPNQwest.

Yep WorldCom recently took over JANET's main link when KPNQWest went under. This is one of (if not the) fastest networks in the UK/EMEA. WorldCom already provide PoP space for one of their UK hubs with several STM16 connections (2.4Gbit).

DazV I wouldnt think it would even be close to that if (as your post suggests) you mean all US traffic coming from the UK.
