Just wondering if you can legally make a backup of a CD you have bought, as I like to copy them for the changer in the car and leave the originals in the house.

It's legal in the states http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1104-801151.html?legacy=zdnn

Thumbs up

You are allowed to make a backup copy, by law.

Nothing to say you can't use the backup copy in your car, as long as you have the original should Mr Plod ask to see it !!

Excellent, now it has been established this is not a piracy issue. How the **** do I copy the wonderful "2 many DJ's" for use in the motor. Easy CD doesn't see any audio files on it.
Any ideas on what to use to extract the data?

I will try the felt pen thing if its a Sony disc (not sure)

Cheers

FJ

Will have a look tonight, i think they should show up as small (1-2k) .cda (CD Audio) files.

Use Nero or Discjuggler to copy/create CDs. Easy CD Creator is IMHO utter cr@p.

You can find demo versions thru the above sites or on http://download.com

Dave

P.S. What a superb CD "2 Many DJs" is !!

Cheers.

Found an excellent article on all this stuff here. Apparently there are 25 types of data protection and 5 CD Audio protection types.
