Cheers dharbige, was racking my brain for that.

It's only on the Win2000 Server and Advanced Server CD if I remember correctly. They also only work with Win2000 and not XP. When I upgraded to XP the setup told me they weren't allowed and that I should use terminal services instead, it then went off and uninstalled them all.

If you're connected to a W2k server you'll find the adminpak.msi file in \winnt\system32 so no cd needed.

Guys

Check out http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q304718 as this has more info.

Essentially on WinXP you need to get the .net Adminpak.msi down as the Windows 2000 version 'should' not work.

Other alternative is to use Terminal Services to connect to the W2K server and run the MMC snap in from there

Christian,
XP already has the TS client but its now called 'remote deskop client' on progs, comms off start menu.

i can send you the adminpak.msi from dot net server if you want also....havnt tried it myself yet as prefer access via TS mys lf

Access to TS by web browser.... checkout TS web client on Sp1 or 2 cd... cant remenber exact folder.... it installs onto IIS and allows access via an ActiveX applet... sweet

You can install something off the Win2000 Pro or Server CD (can't remember) which gives you all the AD, DNS, DHCP etc plugs in on your workstation.

I've got them on mine here
