![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Got a Compaq PC at work, Win NT, with Compaq wheelmouse. I pass the mouse over any particular scroll area and the wheel works to scroll the area covered by the cursor.
Got a new PC at home, Win XP, with Logitech cordless wheelmouse. Now, I go from one scroll area to the next, I have to click in the new scroll area in order to get it to work, otherwise it still scrolls the first one.
It's irritating. I've looked under Control Panel, nothing to set the scroll area auto-sensing, as it were. Someone said it was an XP glitch, and might work better with a Microsoft mouse.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
BJH

I've got the exact opposite - the compaqs at work running NT have the problem you get with the wheelmouse. XP works fine.
Must be drivers, so have a search for new drivers for your mouse or failing that remove and let XP detect it again.

SNAP !!!!
I had the same problem at work and it was doing my head-in!!
I downloaded from the logitech website the driver for the mouse called Mouseware. This driver and package is a little control panel that sits in your taskbar and can modify all aspect of the mouse buttons to do common or special features.
Problem sorted !!!
But do check it is a logitech mouse first by having a look on the underside of the mouse body !!
Cheers
Gary.

Thanks Gary! The mouse came in a green box labelled Logitech, so I'm going to jump to a conclusion on that one! I've found the s/w and bookmarked it until I have internet at home; I can't get 5.9MB on a floppy!
