Just had a phone call from a rather helpful chap from NTL. (honest, he was helpful). He pointed out that my present dial up service was crap, (don't i know it) and offered free installation of Broadband. Naturally i took it. Is there anything i should watch out for with this service? The rather helpful chap also pointed out that this service is 4.5 times faster than the dial up, how true is this? Thanks for any comments!

If its 4.5 times faster, it must be a 256K link. Didn't know that anyone did them.

I think it's the 128k as it's £14.99/month. I suppose i would like a bit more speed, but the thing that really does me crust in is the logging on problem. ie- it took me 11 trys to log on to tha net just to visit Scoobynet. (worth it however)
Has anyone had any trouble with NTL Broadband?

Thumbs up

Brun its a broadband connection so it will always be on. So no need to dial in. If you like it, I suggest you upgrade to a 512K connection though. The monthly sub isnt much more.

Definetly go for the 512K connection at £25. Had it for about 10 months now and it's only gone down for about 6 hours in total over that time.
You aren't going to notice a vast amount of difference with 128, but 512 makes it much more usable.
Wouldn't go for the 1meg yet, as they'll probably have to drop their prices to come in line with Telewest at some point.
