Angry

Just got this package in the last month and BT has recently emailed me to say that they are going to change the terms and conditions and limit me to using the service for 150 hours a month So much for this being an always on internet connection

So who are the best alternatives? They dont have to be the cheapest but it would help

thanks ian

I would query this with BT ASAP - the recently introduced 150 hour limit applies to the consumer Anytime and Surftime Dial-Up services. - There was talk of applying a 1gb/Day download limit to consumer ADSL. It would be commercial suicide to apply time restrictions to an always-on ADSL service.

It very much sounds like you recived the letter incorrectly - so I would clarify with BT ASAP.

The BT web-site certainly still descibe Business 500 as-

"Unlimited internet access. Use the phone and internet Simultaneously*.
‘Always on’ connection, therefore no dial up.

*Normal call charges and line rental apply.
**Speeds may be reduced by usage during peak times, line quality and exchange distance. "

So I'm sure you've recieved an incorrect letter.

Thanks for that guys I will try and contact them on Monday to see what is going on, if they still insist that they will be limiting my use of the service I will be reporting them to Oftel.

Talking

Ian,

If you are still looking to move, I would be interested in trying out your circuit as a migration from BTOpenworld Central to ours - tried it with other SP's but they still have the right to say no even if the end user wants to move!

Failing that, get wires only and buy your own router
