Right, im at the bit where you can fight the big snake, but i havent got alot of ammo for the pistol, i have the broken shotgun, and i know i have to go where the shotgun is on the wall and swap them over.......the problem is the door that i need to go through(just round the corner from the save point at the bottom of the stairs).....the door wont open now, so what do i do?????........its driving me mad.

you need to go onto the floor above and then come down the stairs to item box room. when you do take on the snake some other dude from your team runs in and takes on the snake-not very well though, he soon gets it but you get to pick up his combat shotgun, a better gun that holds 10 shells.
