Question

I have received 2 emails from a friend with attachments, but I cannot get to see them. It says at the top of the email, OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail.

What is OE? I have never had this before. Can anyone shed any light on this matter?

Cheers.

Outlook express, silly me, thats quite obvious really.

I have never put an antivirus thing on here but there is a Norton something that was already on here when we bought it. That will have an antivirus checker in it, will it?

I'm a little confused really because a while ago I sent an email to in-laws and they said I had sent them a virus but nothing had showed up my end to tell me that.

Thanks for your help btw. It's handy to know when I hit a problem someone on here is able to help.

Cheers.

go into outlook express, i think you must be using OE6.

top grey toolbar at the top select tools / options.

look through various tabs and you should find a tickbox that stops OE from taking attachments, i cant remember but its probably under security.

this happend to my dads pc when he upgraded from 5 to 6, like you i spent ages wondering what the **** OE was. I think the default setting for OE6 is to block attachments.

hope this helps,

mike.
