Deano,

there are far too many web-sites that seem more interested in "fancy stuff" rather than actually providing information to potential customers.

You example is also irritating because i often right-click to open URLs in a new window, and this Java crap just says "Done".

Oh, and then there are the web-sites whose main page says "You don't have Sh1tWave installed - click here for a free download". I DON'T WANT ANY BANDWIDTH SAPPING CRAP THANKYOU!!! Thus you can't view their site, and they never post a visible e-mail address on their main page - so you can't contact them to tell them what wonkers they are

...and as for commercial sites that have pop-ups generated via their ISPs - AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

mb

Why do so many web-sites insist on having on-line catalogues thet display product info in jav generated pop-up windows.

Many times I find somehting I want (for work or home) and need to send a link to someone. can you do it quickly - No  you have to send half a page of instruction about which search options to pick and what to look for.

*deep breath*

Thanks for listening

Too many!

But not the one I'm doing It also has an "email to a friend" option which send the direct page link.

ps. Sorry to be picky but it's JavaScript, not Java that makes the popups. Similar name, different thing.

What you can sometimes do is press Control+n on the popup window. This will open up a new instance of I.E with the address bar there which you can copy and paste.. sorted!

The other thing to do is go to www.tinyurl.com and install their 'Tiny URL Button' in your links bar.

Then, when you're at a page you want to tell somebody about, you press the butten, and it'll generate a very short URL which you can paste out and send.

the other way is to right click on the popup window and goto properties, often the source url can be something which you can send as a link...
