asus p4tf socket 423 p4 m/board
Been offered one quite cheap.
It has on board sound, but no indication as to how fast a CPU you can put in it.....
Also uses RIMMs - what the hell are these and are they expensive?
Cheers,
Dan

I've just looked at the prices![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
However, what's the board like? Any comments?
I'd be moving up from a ABIT KT7a RAID with Athlon 1.4...... looking to put in a P4 1.8 - 2Ghz ish![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Avoid!
A socket 423 is the original "generation" P4.
All current shipping P4s uses a 478 socket. You'll be cripped upto 1.6Ghz (IIRC), no chance of using the newer 533FSB P4s.
