Question

When I play .mpg files in XP media player, the stream is OK for 5 seconds or so, then it stops for a few seconds, then carries on.......its like its stuttering!!

Is this due to my graphics memory being too low at 32Mb??

CPU speed? HDD speed? Sounds more like it can't stream/process the info fast enough.

Are you streaming from the web or playing off your HD or a CD?

Question

Tried from CD & HDD.

I have a 1.6GHz processor,
Protege 40Gb UDMA HDD,
24 speed CR-RW,
Ati rage 128 pro 32Mb AGP graphic card,
256Mb 133Hz Memory,

surely that should be enough?

With half that setup you would be able to play video files well!

I suspect something is wrong, either with the video files themselves or with your video card drivers.

Ati state "The RAGE 128 PRO driver included with Windows XP does NOT support OpenGL." what ever that means........??? HELP!!

I am in the process of upgrading the driver, but this is proving difficult as I have a "powered by Ati" card!
