Was going to give my fax/modem to my Dad for dial up ISP (in the sticks no ADSL).

I have ADSL, but occasionally use the fax.

Do I find one of these on line fax services or do I buy a cheap fax/modem card for the new PC? (self build P4 2.53 512 DDR333).

Thumbs up

I send faxes using my laptop's built-in modem (using XP's built-in faxing service), and receive them via my eFax number. Works a treat.

An el-cheapo PCI modem is sub £20. I'd stick with that - also gives you a dial-up backup should your ADSL die...
