Thumbs down

I bought a brand new PC the other day (nice high spec baby ) and have installed HL and Counter Strike back on it. My old PC was Win98 and I never had any problems with CS using that. But using WinXP the game is soooooo unstable. Game crashes or refuses to start, mouse seems to have a mind of its own in the game (whilst strafing you cant look left or right). I did notice that when I installed HL, windows warned me that there were known issues with HL on WinXP. Surely there must be thousands of people playing these games online using WinXP? I have all the latest patches but still the game doesn't work that well.

Anyone else have any similar problems?

Eh?

I know loads of people running HL with XP.

What sort of crashes are you getting? Does it specify an error?

What sort of pc do you have? spec?

Question

CS on XP for ages, zero issues. In fact the only issue I've ever had was scrambled voice comm, but that was a driver issue with my soundcard, now fixed.
