Problem now is that all Desktops have Windows 2000 with administrative rights required to install/reinstall. To get them to reinstall requires a pound of flesh, a normal signature, an abnormal signature and your last utility bill.
As for the Net Nanny, he even opens up external e-mails with password protected excel file attachments. Then sends a copy to HR![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Tips on getting admin password appreciated.

I know how the Net Nanny thinks, he taught me all he knew [which wasn't a lot!
]
How the Hell did he move to Win2K anyway, he always had a nervous tick when we used to mention anything remotely Microsoft.![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I'm sure i could whip up a special help file.

Soundz like the net nanny needs a good kickin!! anyway I digress
does this help???
Issue
You try to select objects, but encounter the following problems.
You cannot select objects using the crosshairs, because there is no aperture.
You cannot select objects using implied windowing, because when you pick in the drawing area, the crossing or window selection is not initiated.
However, you can use the pickbox to select objects after initiating a command, and both the SELECT and QSELECT commands still work.
Solution
This problem occurs when both of the following conditions exist.
Grips are disabled
Noun/verb selection is turned off
To resolve the problem, you need to either enable grips, or turn on noun/verb selection (or both).
To enable grips
On the command line, type grips and press ENTER.
In response to the prompt, type 1 and press ENTER.
To turn on noun/verb selection
On the command line, type pickfirst and press ENTER.
In response to the prompt, type 1 and press ENTER.
Note By default, grips are enabled and noun/verb selection is turned on. You can also find and change these settings through the OPTIONS command (Selection tab).

With your advice just replicated problem on home station. Twas indeed noun/verb selection. Can't wait to get back into office (what am I saying) and try it.
Been using Autocad for umpteen years, learn something new every week.
Thanks again

Hey, I didn't say that. Anything that can get me one over on the net nanny is appreciated, including incriminating photos, proof of shady deals or better still an admin rights crack.

Annoying one this. In Autocad 2000 when you click on a line the edit handles appear. The layer display also changes to the layer of the line just selected. Pressing DELETE on the keyboard with the handles visible erases the item (often easier than erase command). However since return to PC following Xmas hols this is no longer possible. Clicking on a line still displays the handles but the layer display dosen't alter and pressing the DELETE button on the keyboard has no effect.
Help appreciated ecspecially if it dosen't suggest a reinstall.
For information no other user has had access to this PC in my absence and the software is installed localy.
