This may have been posted before but I take my hat off to Rockstar, in one of the missions in Vice City you have to meet Marcus Hammond and Franco Carter.
Too much of a coincidence, nothing to do with Mark Hammond and Frank Carter from The Getaway and their way of welcoming Sony Soho to the genre??

i remember in GTA III there was a pisstake of the main character from the 'Driver' series where you had to take out a bent cop who was 'a strangely animated character' who was useless out of his car

I must have completed it but at a guess I'd say it was the 3rd part of "Autocide", it was on that side of the water.
