Oops wrong forum - Mods can you move to Computer related please.
Am installing a GeForce4 card into my PC and having big probs.
Located card into AGP slot - start up machine and the following various probs appear.
Running XP by the way.
Loads up fine until desktop appears then hangs.
Sometimes does not reach that stage and I get a pale blue screen.
Desktop loads until I try to do something and then hangs.
Sound on windows intro starts to sample![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
When I first start it up the first screen message is about the card so I know it recognises it. Card seems fine as I tried on a m8's machine so must be something to do with the setup on mine. I loaded the drivers from the supplied disk so not them.
As I'm a dumbo regarding comps is there something I should have changed in theBios etc.
All help gratefully rec'd

Make sure youve removed the old drivers first, also if you were using onboard graphics make sure its set to run from AGP in Bios.
You may have to put your old card in to remove the old drivers or try booting into safe mode.
WinXP has got generic NVidia drivers built in so to get it up and running you souldnt need the drivers on the disk.
You will need the drivers installed later when you paly games as the ones in XP dont support Open GL (and they are rubish
)
When youve got it to boot into WinXP download the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com .
