Thumbs up

I have an MSI 648Max P4 board with 2.54 Northwood CPU. I am very happy with the combination. I chose this board as a result of tests by TomsHardware.com It was also ery affordable. If going AMD route then some of the MSI get good reviews and some don't. Depends on the chipset used.

I had lots of failures of MSI boards last year at work. Wouldn't buy them again.

The MSI stuff is usually amongst the most stable - perhaps the poster above had a bad batch? They normally use bigger capacitors to smooth the power supply more etc

Probably was a bad batch, but when a company won't even talk to you about it then what would you do. We wanted to get them repaired but they showed no interest at all. We only use Asus, Intel and some Gigabyte boards now.
