I have just seen this on Ebuyer and though that for the few that have come on here recently looking to upgrade their VGA card, but don't want to shell out a small fortune, this sounds very good:
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=45495
Basically, it is one of these:
Leadtek Winfast Geforce4 64MB Ti4200 4xAGP A250 DVi TV-Out OEM
£62.22 inc VAT and Delivery. Completely crush a Geforce 4 MX for peanuts! Faster than all Geforce 3's too.
The only thing going against it is the 64mb of ram, but at this price, who cares?
Just thought someone might appreciate this.
Cheers,
Nick

Just remember that thing is just a 4200/4400 tops with 128mb ram and a agp 8x interface.
Slower than a Ti4600 and the AGP8x interface produces no noticeable difference in speed.
Damn Nvidia and their odd naming of products recently......
The amount of people that they have conned with that recently......
A ti4800 (non SE) I believe is a Ti4600 with agp8x interface. Nice naming there yet again.....
Cheers,
Nick

Whats the big difference between this one and the GeForce4 MX series then? Both are 64mb etc and GeForce4, what does this one do that is so much better? I'm interested as I was about to get the MX card with a PC i'm thinking of buying. Will review that choice depending on your answer.

Right, about the only bit of Tom's Bribeware that I do use, but has lots of pretty pictures for you to look at, hence why I have linked to it here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20021218/index.html
All of the results, bar dungeon siege, which is an oddity for a lot of cards, show why I think the gf4mx4xx series are poor. They are not the same technology as the fully fledged GF4's, but are actually still closely based on the Geforce2 series!
Hope that helps,
Cheers,
Nick

You don't need the console cable at all to reprogram the 5861's.
I have only ever used one once almost 2 years ago. I had to make one when I wiped the ASIC.AIC file by accident and was trying to figure out what was missing! BTW, deleting that was my own fault, nothing to do with the reprogramming procedure.
Cheers,
Nick

The console way seemed a little safer ! I'll just have to get on with it the other way !.
Managed to cool it by hanging at a slight angle !
PS have to agreed with the video card. I am running the 128mb Ti4200 version, just loaded unreal II and it is a smooth as silk
