media player does this version 9 is latest see microsoft.com

Hi Mr Cookie,
We have media player 9, but cant see how it plays DVD's.

Any clues how to use it?

Ah, I need a DVD decoder. Can anyone help with this?

The DVD player codecs are only included with WinXP I understand... you have to source your own in Win2k (due to licensing issues)

What about realplayer see real player.com direct download link if it will let me is here , hope that helps

I use FusionSoft Player on my Win2K Pro machine no problems. Tis free as well

Thanks Ian. We tried that one, but codecs were missing. N e idea where these can be sourced from (and what are they??)

David,

Sorry, I have no idea to be honest. I just downloaded the FusionSoft, installed and it worked. I guess I already had the codecs installed ? This would make sense as I can open .VOB files off DVDs and play in Media Player 7.
