Cant find my previous post on this.
Has anyone else having trouble signing in to Hotmail.
It keeps telling me to enable cookies but on checking my settings they are enabled. Currently using Windows ME if that makes any difference.
Getting really pi**ed off now as haven't been able to check mails for a couple of days.
Please help
Chris

Possibly a corrupt cookie?
You could try Tools > Internet Options, then Delete Cookies on the first page. This will loose passwords for other websites though.
Alternatively, find the Cookies folder (maybe C:\Windows\Cookies) and try to find any Hotmail or Passport related cookies, then delete 'em.
HTH!

Deleted all cookies now and that still hasn't worked.
Keeps telling me that cookies must be enabled and they bloody well are!! GGGGGGGggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Seeing as I receive on average 10-15 junk mails a day it's going to be overflowing by now.
Think I'll set up a yahoo account instead, the better half doesn't get any junk mail in her yahoo account.
Still need to get into hotmail though to copy my address book![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
If B.Gates walked in right now he'd get some of this!!

OK try setting internet security to the lowest level. Go to tool/options/internet security in internet explorer and drag the bar to the lowest level and see if that works. Not advisable to leave the security that low permanently but if hotmail then works you know there is something in the security level, normally set as medium, that has to be changed.

Firewall software protects against Trojans, spyware, worms and other known & unknown threats, prevents unauthorized or malicious applications from bypassing the firewall & provides evidence logs for intrusion analysis.
This sort of software is highly recommended on PC's accessing the internet. You may have something like Norton Firewall installed which can often be set to block cookies, considered as spyware.
All that is required is a simple settings change.

Cheers, but still no joy. Put security level to low (was on medium) and still getting the following response from hotmail.
"Your Web browser options are currently set to disable cookies. To use .NET Passport, you must enable cookies.
.NET Passport stores cookies (small text files) on your computer that let you sign in to .NET Passport participating sites. For information about how to enable cookies, see the online help for your Web browser."
Anything else I can try.

Now try Hotmail again?

Total messages received was about 90, 6 of which weren't SPAM ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
How come yahoo mail doesn't have this problem. Is it a ploy by microsoft to buy their additional security?
I've mailed puff, but didn't want to rub it in, he was trying to help![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Thanks again
