Iv'e got a 1.9 P4 and 256ram memory + 40 gig hard drive and I want to upgrade the graphics card, should I go for a top of the range one now or wait and get a new generation FX. Are prices on top cards at the moment likely to drop when the FX comes out and thus might be a better buy. What cards should I be looking at and what money....any help appreciated

Buy a Radeon 9700Pro.
It has the best overall performance of any card you can actually buy & the best IQ.
Also it will be getting a big performance boost in the next driver release, & that isn't gossip but straight from the horse's mouth (the horse being a Catalyst driver programmer)

I'd go for a 9700 Pro too, but wait until the 9800 Pro is shipping in quantity to get a better price...

there no need to buy top spec
im an avid gamer and my 100 pound card is great (geforce4 ti200)
Given the product cycle of cards is only 6 months, it doesnt pay to buy the latest technology
not unless youve got money to burn
