Question

Hi

I need to sort 1000 rows in a spreadsheet. Each row has several columns, however, I only need to sort on one column...but the sort will automatically sort the other columns based on this one column.

Example

Name Number Value

JK 003 4554
FG 001 9
RR 004 3033
WE 002 45

The above list to be sorted just by the column Number so it looks like this :

FG 001 9
WE 002 45
JK 003 4554
RR 004 3033

I can do the sort on Number but only the number column is sorted. I am ok with vba etc so a coded solution would be fine.

Many Thanks,

Chris

Highlight all the cells you need to include - that's the data + the one col you will sort on.

Then Click Data > Sort

In Sort By, pic the column with the 1,2,3,4 value.

All the rows should be preserved (so FG 1 9 stay together) and it all ends up in order.
