Hi All,
Recently bought a Laptop that has a Toshiba DVD drive in it, the drive is set to region 1.
On my old pc the hardware wasn't coded so I could use DVD Genie to change the software players regional code (Power DVD).
When I look in the DVD drive properties the box for changing the code is greyed out and the number of changes left is 0.
Anyone any ides or know of any software that will help?
I'm running XP home.
Thanks in advance,
Lee

Ok then.
Found some sofware that will allow me to find the firmware version and its 1718 revB.
Downloaded the correct upgrade but I'll have to spend sometime reading up how to do it, don't want to screw up the drive.
Thanks again.

Have a look at the web site DVD reviewer this has loads of cracks. I got mine for the DVD player from the Hitachi site, downloaded the programme wrote to disc, inserted rest is history.

DJ Dunk,
Thanks for the link. Its a Toshiba SD-R2102. How do I find out what firmware the drives using?
Boxt,
Its the drive thats holding onto the code not the player so DVD Genie doesn't work.
Cheers
