what would scooby do

PC - been though the usual suspects, sof2, unreal 2, RTCW, mohaa, battlefield 1942 - any other decent ones around at the moment you can recommend (single + multiplayer)

I had a quick go on the demo and it looked good - is the full game ok, on the demo you couldn't save during a mission, can you do this in the full game ??

Yup you can save mid level, limited number of times tho.

Need a fairly hefty spec pc to make it run sweetly tho, unless you run it without all the flash graffs.

Cool, I'll give it a whirl.

I have athlon XP2000+ wiv 1g DDR + gainward geforce 4 golden sample (top of the range 4600 128mbit video) so should be ok

recent ones that spring to mind -
rainbow 6 : raven shield - not bad, a lot of creeping around tho
black hawk down - not bad, pretty good.
Vietcong - not bad, pretty good.
Red faction 2 - not bad, pretty good.


all in all most of the current ones are not bad, pretty good

edited to say forgot the VERY average igi2 which is not very nice at all.

IGI2 thats quite a good game

Unreal 2- good but tedious
MOH- brill up to the Omaha level



Best game I played is Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe edition. Cost me 6 quid. Superb. No bugs and great gameplay

Its an oldie but Deus Ex was class. I'm still playing it

Unreal 2 was a bit short but worth a look. Unreal Tournament 2003 is definately worth a look for some multiplayer action.

MOH Spearhead expansion pack is good too if youve got/completed the original game and want more of the same.

I've only played the first level so far but The Thing looks quite good too.

it rocks.
thing that might put you off is a monthly subscription about £8
best game iv ever played and iv played them all.you can play
alone, but best to join a squad, check out www.1strm.com we
are all european based players only yank lives here in u.k.
the game has a pretty steep learning curve but people will help
you out if you ask.
you can play as air sea or land all vehicles are realistically
modelled
anyway thats my 2ps worth

Found the AI (the enemy especially) in BHD a bit suspect to say the least. They seem to spend an inordinate amount of time staring at and loading their weapons and your own buddies seem to expect you to do a Rambo most of the time. That said It has varied missions and scenarios which spice it up a tad. 7/10.
