Now i know RS and many others sell these converters but the problem i have is as follows:
Have a 25pin serial console connection for a server. Console switch is connected to 4 of these servers, and it uses RJ45 connections, so i need a RJ45 - 25pin converter to connect the console connection to the server. The problem is that with all the ones i can find, the cable sticks a long way out of the back of the connector and where the customer is trying to shut his rack door, it is putting alot of pressure on the cable.
Is there a converter where the RJ45 plugs in the side or at an angle so that you dont need so much room behind it ?
Cheers
Dave

As above , flat ribbon cable extensions - Thats what we've dome for some sun boxes which were a tight squeeze.
Think one of our guys made them up from bits from RS. Maplins have them (although 1.8m Long
) in their catalogue (25way IDC ribbon cable with 25way D plug and 25 way 2 Socket.) page no. 399, Order no JC17T, £2.99 each. - but they're not on the web-site.
