What do you need? Email, or real web-surfing?
I regularly use WapMail to access email from my GPRS mobile phone.
Otherwise if you want full surfing, get yerself an iPaq or similar with a GPRS card in it and you can surf on the move wherever you can get reception.

Richard, on most of the new nokia phones they come with WAP services, this basically allows you to connect to the internet via your mobile, T-mobile for instance provide links and info on sport, news, weather, music, pretty basic compared to a pc and the internet, if you get a phone that allows pictures, 7210 or other, then you are able to view pictures via WAP. Depending on who you have your email account with, its possible to read your email via your phone wap connection, thats what mark is talking about.
I can access my email account at Totalise via my t-mobile WAP connection. Handy, only if you dont get loadsa junk mail as you will be online ages trawling through to the mail you need or want.
Post this in the computer forum and i am sure you will be inundated with answers.

o2 XDA,pocket PC with phone and modem. Email service from who you wish, GPRS access and full IE access, so you can view Scoobynet and respond from the train.
As you know I live in Coulsdon if you wish to pop round and have a look at one in action.
