Hi.
I will shortly be moving & leaving cable broadband behind.
Looks like ISDN is my only option. I have looked into the ISDN packages available but it is bewildering.
I have decided to get an ISDN TA card. Will then get BT Together Home Highway for £25pm plus £75 line installation fee.
Do I then need an ISP on top of this?
If so, what do you reckon to this deal?

Does anyone use them? What is the advantage over BT?

Note that new BT Home Highway installations use an NTE (box on the wall) which has an ISDN TA built in. You just plug into a USB port on the box on the wall.

Thanks Carl.
Have just emailed Firefly for some advice and got a detailed reply within a few mins. Am impressed!

This 'Midband' just seems to be a renamed ISDN as far as I can see. Will wait and see what the prices & max usages are I think.

Thumbs up

Hi mate

I signed up with Fast24 about 2 months ago. Shocking experience to start with but they now seemed to have sorted their act out. Virtually trouble free 128K connection, 100 hours a month for £18.

Cheers
Kav

Cool

Darren,

With the BT system you can use either the USB direct into the BT box (no modem reqd)or the ISDN adaptor into the RJ 45. We have both for 2 PC's - one's a fair distance from the box so uses network cabling rather than joining USB cable's as it's cheaper. ISDN adaptor gives better performance over the USB route. I use V21 as an ISP. £13.99 a month and 240 hours with a 4 (or 5 can't remember) hour connection time. You can get a £9.99 a moth package with less hours but we found it difficult to get connections - the £13.99 package has a 10:1 contention ratio.

Kevin.
