Hi there, wondering what operating system all you guys are running for games and benchmarking. I have tried 2000 and XP but am disapointed with performance compared to 98 se. For instance a PC I have just built around a P4 1800 (400mhz) with GForce 2 Ultra and 512mb RDRAM running 3d mark 2000 score of 9600 (98) and only 7800 (2000) did not bother with XP. Am I doing something wrong or do you have to optimize XP and 2000 if so how.

I would have thought all the latest games will be primarily coded to run on XP. Lets face it, Win98 is a dying OS.

Take the hit in performance, wait for your component manufacturers to produce better drivers and install XP.
