just installed an Asus A7V333 with a 1ghz cpu and 512 ddr333ram. What the problem is, is at boot up the comp goes straight in to the bios. The bios is also asking if the chip is 700 or a 1ghz chip and the fsb is at 100. I have saved and exited but then i get just a blck screen. And the same thing happenings if i boot back up. i have changed the battery also, but still the same **** happens..
Get your thinking caps on guys..All help would be great..

Does that chip run with a 100 MHZ bus or a 133 MHZ BUS? If it is a 133 buss then my guess would be that the bus speed is controlled by a jumper on the board and not by the bios.
Bit of a waste of that ram and motherboard to be running with a 1GHZ chip when an Athlon XP 1800 is about £45 these days!

The reason why its only a 1ghz chip is because i bought a new mobo, and thought i would build a new comp. It originaly had a 2ghz chip in nd will be changed back to this when i get a 3ghz bartlon chip for my main comp.
You could be right though, the jumper settings might need changing..
