Some of you may have been tempted to visit the latest 'anti-mycroft' website... this may lead you to receive an E-mail from iainwilshire@ hot... you know the rest... don't open it... it contains a simple but irritating virus... needless to say it is not a 'present' from me but a little prezzie from the tortured souls who put up the site...
Should I wish to send any of you an e-mail I will not send it from that E-mail address as there has never been that facility from there...

Can't believe someone would do that, having a go at someone they have a beef with is one thing but sending a virus to those visiting and probably agreeing with the site is seriously screwed up.
Maybe its the guy who thought I was you on the Soarer question in "other marques". Very sad, I hope he gets what he deserves.

I'm afraid you really have got it wrong I'm not Mycroft, the only person who can confrim that is Mycroft himself I suppose, not that you would believe it. If you feel happier believing that I am him then fine. I'm no expert on cars and such just an average guy who likes fast motors. I think I'll avoid posting on topics involving you as you seem to be a little crazy. No hard feelings though, I just can't understand your obsession.

Someone called 'lcheetham' has used the link on the site to link it to my web site... if anyone here has been 'zapped' by this and can be ahsed to pursue 'lcheetham' then please do!

Yesterday, I received an e-mail, supposedly from Mycroft, with an attachment on it. I know that the sender was not Mycroft.
The attachment was destroyed immediately prior to receipt on my system by an automated virus search facility that all the college computers are protected by. The e-mail contained a virus, designed to cause maximum annoyance and not a little inconvenience (obviously).
It would appear that I have upset someone. I imagine that the person(s) I have upset see me as a supporter of the "Mycroft cause". Those that know me will be aware that I have both agreed AND disagreed with some of the opinions expressed by Mycroft.
I believe in free speech and I also believe that there are two sides to EVERY story. It would appear that someone out there does not.
I also believe that the person who does this kind of thing is a spineless coward - and if he would like to meet me, at any time, in any place - he would have his opportunity to prove me wrong.
I would like to warn all Forum members who are perhaps not fortunate enough to have the level of computer security that I am afforded:-

I'm never sure of how much of what you say is true, however...
I can assure you/anyone that I don't have anything to do with any viruses - I wouldn't have the first clue of how to write or distribute one, neither would I intend to do so.
I don't care whether you believe me or not Liecroft, I mean I don't believe a word you say after all!

Furthermore - if anyone thinks they have any "information", then they're quite welcome to "release" it - I've not broken any laws.
In fact, I'd be interested to know who's responsible for the virus if in fact it did exist - especially how they managed to do it on the back of my crappy little freebie web page!
