I am with Nildram and get the 512k service, they are advertising 1 and 2 meg connections, I am happy with the 512 k for what I do but I am interested to see whether anyone has the faster service and if so does it make a lot of difference ?

only in downloading stuff. webpages download in roughly the same time. if you use kazaa or newsgroups then a faster connection can be beneficial. you need to bear in mind though that some ISPs (thanks NTL) now have a cap on your downloads(currently 1 gig a day). also costs more.

I am on a 2Mb Cable, and for general web browsing I dont really see a massive gain over 1Mb unless downloading a large file.

One for major rinses only IMO.

You'll start to find which websites run off the back of a piece of string and which have decent bandwidth
