Question

I got my firewire card today, got some footage of my old car on the rollers. Can anyone tell me the best compression method to use to shrink the file to a reasonable size, whilst leaving it watchable quality-wise.

I'm using Adobe Premier software by the way

Cheers

DivX 5 is what you want (http://www.divx.com). Compresses them down nicely...

I just normally export the timeline as an Adobe MPEG, compresses down nicely (i.e. fit around 30-60mins on a CD), stays at fairly decent quality, and if you have the software to create a VCD, it will play on most DVD players nicely!
