I want to reimage my operating system (win 2000), is there a way I can do this straight from a floppy disk ?

If you are trying to refresh the installation, then you will need the install CD (or image of it on hard drive) not just a floppy disk.

I can't login to the machine as I don't have the password, how can I do this ?

Which password do you need, BIOS or Windows User/network?

If you want to re-install Windows 2000 without having access to the current installation, either boot off the installation CD or create some bootdisk floppies. The bootdisks can be created using the bootdisk program found under the 'bootdisk' directory on the Windows 2000 installation CD.
