mp3 to cd questions

![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Have just created a normal cd from mp3 using Nero and it sounds dissapointing.
1.How can you find the bit rate of the mp3....from doing a search i understand 128 is cd quality.
2.I just used the standard wizard. Is there any way of improving the sound
3.What are the main factors influencing finished cd quality or is it all down to the quality of the original mp3
Thanks Paul.
(btw,i tried doing a search but could not find satisfacory answers)

Hi Paul

Not sure how you find the bitrate other than loading it into somthing like winamp and looking at the properties. 128 is certainly NOT cd quality. I've recorded some cds at the highest setting (384) and they don't sound as good as the original. Basically, mp3 is not a lossless compression, so you are bound to loose some of the quality. It largely depends on what you are recording as to whether you can notice it or not though. Stuff with a large dynamic range seems the worst (classical, jazz etc)
2.I just used the standard wizard. Is there any way of improving the sound.
I think nero just converts the mp3 to wav and writes it out, so it all depends on the quality of the original mp3.
3.What are the main factors influencing finished cd quality or is it all down to the quality of the original mp3

Hope that helps
